Earlex HV3500 Spray Station HVLP Sprayer
The Earlex HV3500 Spray Station HVLP Sprayer has some features that make it attractive. I am careful, however, to keep you up to date on the best HVLP Sprayers on the market today, at the best possible price. I also keep an eye out for the most durable, reliable, and highest quality units available. With this in mind I also have to bring you candid reviews on HVLP Spray Guns that reviewers single out as poor quality machines. This Spray Gun falls into that sub-par category.
The manufacturer says it is designed to be a multi-purpose sprayer able to handle everything from thin stains to heavy urethane, lacquer, sealer, and other indoor and outdoor projects. They go on to say that it is easy to use and clean up. It has a three-pattern system that can change quickly, and a thumb control paint flow dial. Its container can hold up to a quart of paint or other medium at a time, and the level of control that the user enjoys will enable the paint or stain to last longer and go further in the completion of the project. It has a powerful 500 watt turbine, enabling it to handle everything up to thinned latex. The box contains the turbine, an air hose, a power cord, Earlex's “expert spray gun”, a 2.0mm stain/latex tip and 1.5mm fine finish tip, a viscosity cup, a needle/tip tool, an instruction booklet and a quick start guide.

Earlex Spray Station - Reviews
Sadly, the Earlex HV3500 has a number of design flaws that make it extremely difficult to recommend this model. One frequently reported problem is with the plastic seal in the needle. The seal seems to have a major problem with leaking, especially when exposed to alcohol-based media. Whether it is not fitting correctly or has degraded or corroded due to exposure, this serious design defect has resulted in the Earlex HV3500 being virtually unusable by some customers. Earlex's customer service has been sporadic in addressing these complaints, replacing defective parts when the need is clear, but it is uncertain whether or not they have been addressing this critical design/material flaw.
Some customers have found problems with this device even before trying to paint with it, reporting cracked or damaged cases or bad seals. In these instances, again, Earlex's customer support has been unreliable at best.
The Earlex HV3500 Spray Station HVLP Sprayer is an affordable piece of painting equipment, but given closer examination, is fraught with flaws that make it difficult to recommend. There are several models of HVLP sprayers available for the consumer to choose from, and many models that cost the same or even less than the HV3500. They can do the same job much more reliably, and with the ability to perform ably again and again. While the Earlex HV3500 does not have a completely bleak record, the number of negative reports and reviews it has received are somewhat alarming. Its price tag does not reflect the risk inherent in purchasing this unit. You may want to consider a more reliable HVLP Sprayer than the Earlex HV3500 Spray Station HVLP Sprayer.
